Malala urged Nigerian government to focus on the education



The Nobel laureate Malala Yosufzai, recently visited the most populated country of Africa, Nigeria and said that more than half of the children who belongs to primary age are not enrolled in the schools.Malala further said that the government of Nigeria needs to take some serious steps for improving its education system.According to the reports, Nigeria being the most populated country of Africa has around 10 million children of school going age but are not enrolled in the schools and primary school enrollment is just 54 percent.Malala is the youngest Nobel Prize winner for Peace and is also the youngest UN messenger of peace. She recently turned 20 and celebrated her birthday with the girls from conflict ridden areas of Middle East.She became the UN’s youngest messenger of peace on April 11, 2017.“My goal is to make sure every child, a girl and a boy; they get the opportunity to go to school. It is their basic human right, so I will be working on that and I will never stop until I see the last child going to school,” said Malala, at the time.State of Education in Nigeria Speaking in regard of education in Nigeria, Malala said “the government should declare a state of emergency on education in Nigeria.”“They are happy to work more on education. We are also happy to hear positive response from the minister as well in ensuring that education is prioritised,” she said in recent Reuters report. Malala is also campaigning for more than 200 girls who were abducted by Boko Haram in 2014. Boko haram is an Islamist Militant group whose name translates to ‘western education is forbidden’.
