To increase the employability, AICTE to revamp the syllabus for technical courses



All India Council for Technical Education is all set to revamp the syllabus for the technical courses across the country, in an attempt to increase the employability of the students. According to the sources the new technical syllabus in the engineering colleges would be job oriented and highly technical. The new syllabus will not only introduce new subjects but will also introduce uniformity in the curriculum among the technical institutions of the nation and will come into effect from July 1.Industry training will be mandatory DR MP Poonia, vice chariman, AICTE said that the new syllabus will be industry linked and therefore it will be mandatory for the students to spend two months per year in the industry. “The AICTE is tying up with CII and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to give industrial exposure to the students,” Poonia stated. The AICTE is also planning on training the teachers and for this purpose programs have already been designed and for this purpose The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) has been contacted for this purpose which will provide three month training to the teachers after MTech.
